I’m Mary V. Young, and I’m a Wordsmith.
I call myself a wordsmith because written and spoken words are my raw material, and I “smith” them (like a goldsmith) into encouragement and inspiration. My focus in life is to Live Love, Encourage Others, and Make a Difference. I get my inspiration from my pets, nature’s grandeur, and the world around me.

I write Biblical fiction, poetry and reflective non-fiction. All of my work embraces ferocious vulnerability, authenticity, and transformation.

I have a monthly Substack called Butterfly Thoughts, where I share thoughts and reflective essays about life’s joys and life’s challenges.
Speaking & Training
As a software trainer for over twenty-five years, I have learned the art of helping people understand topics that are foreign to them. I’m now seeking to bring that same art to helping people realize they really *can* do whatever it is they’re wanting to do.
